It’s all included: understanding and assessing annual salaries for award-covered employees

You are invited to join Erin Lynch, Employment Partner, on Wednesday, 4 May 2022 at 12pm, as she discusses the use of annual salary clauses for award covered employees, where to start in considering payments for annual salaries and tips for addressing potential underpayments. Erin will be joined by Jessica Farthing from Grant Thornton Australia, who will discuss the use of a practical diagnostic tool that can help organisations audit their compliance with modern award obligations.
We will be addressing the following topics:
- award coverage and award classification;
- tools to assess compliance;
- annualised salary clauses in modern award vs contractual set off clauses;
- record keeping obligations; and
- managing compliance and the Fair Work Ombudsman.
Jessica is a Partner and leads the Data Transformation and Analytics practice at Grant Thornton Australia Ltd.
She has 15 years of experience in professional services, both in the US and Australia, performing big data analytics in the course of financial remediation engagements. She leads a team of data specialists who focus on payroll and Award compliance analytics and have vast experienced in partnering with both employment law specialists and clients to deliver technology enabled insights, tools, and complex pay calculations across historical periods.
Additionally, she works closely with other service lines at Grant Thornton to support new ways of working and innovation amongst the existing accounting services delivered to Grant Thornton clients.
